This book comprehensively documents the International Harvester Company’s activities from its start to its merger with Case as Case IH in 1986 and their influence in Australia and New Zealand. IHC began with a merger of five harvesting machinery companies in 1902 to form the International Trust, the world’s biggest farm machinery enterprise at the time. Then IHC became involved with tractors to become the world’s largest tractor and full-line machinery maker, setting production records that stand to this day.

The book then informs collectors with detail on the tractors and machinery models that enthusiasts in Australia and New Zealand are attracted to in the IH brand lineup. Much information and anecdotes about IH collectors and enthusiasts is provided. Collecting, restoring and maintaining vintage machines is covered. The story of the IH Geelong Works is detailed with first-hand material from its start in 1937 to its closure in 1982. The book concludes with the legacy that was handed on to Case IH in more recent years. Case IH products are described and some future projections are suggested.

The book is copiously illustrated and contains much material that has never before been published.

Dr Graeme Quick lives in Queensland and is a widely-experienced engineer, designer, and farm machinery historian. His other books are Australian Tractors and Remarkable Australian Farm Machines.
